Engstrom Joins Leadership Team Alongside Former Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, Attorney General Bill Barr, and CEO Gentry Collins

Des Moines, Iowa (November 10, 2023)

Today, the American Free Enterprise Chamber of Commerce (AmFree Chamber) named Rob Engstrom as President, effective immediately.

Engstrom previously founded his own firm, Wolfe Street Partners, a full-service strategic advocacy firm that advises trade associations, corporations, and state and local chambers of commerce. Prior to that, Engstrom served in a variety of capacities at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce for nearly 20 years starting in 2002, most recently as a senior advisor, senior vice president, and national political director.

“Engstrom is a tremendous talent, and we are thrilled he is coming on board to help lead our team,” said Gentry Collins, CEO of AmFree Chamber. “His wealth of political experience and strategic acumen will be invaluable to AmFree Chamber’s mission and our members.”

In his new role as President of AmFree Chamber, Engstrom will lead the organization’s Washington, D.C.-based strategy and business operations. He will oversee its rapidly growing public policy portfolio and advise member companies on the political and legislative issues that affect their economic and financial livelihoods.

“AmFree Chamber has member companies in all 50 states and every legal jurisdiction in the United States,” said Bill Barr, former Attorney General and Chair of the Center for Legal Action's Advisory Board. “We’re pleased to have Rob join our group and help serve our members, who are the backbone of the American economy.”

Engstrom joins AmFree Chamber’s leadership team working closely alongside AmFree Chamber’s leadership team:

• Advisory Board Chairman Terry Branstad, former ambassador to China and governor of Iowa

Center for Legal Action Advisory Board Chairman Bill Barr, former U.S. Attorney General

• AmFree Chamber CEO Gentry Collins

AmFree Chamber advocates for free markets and limited government while working to eliminate burdensome, costly regulations and taxes that hurt entrepreneurs and businesses of all sizes.

“For years, American businesses have been searching for a clear and steady voice to represent them in the fight for limited government and free markets,” said Rob Engstrom, President of AmFree Chamber. “This is central to AmFree Chamber’s mission, and I am thrilled to help lead the organization. There is no more serious time to prioritize the concerns of entrepreneurs and small businesses in Washington and around the nation.”

AmFree Chamber is the first pro-business and free markets organization rooted in common sense values with national reach.
